These stealthy moves aren't guaranteed to work all the time, however moving too close to soldiers or firing your own weapon can quickly turn the meter in the other direction, potentially leaving you open to attack when you least expect it. As this happens, their partner effectively becomes invisible to the rival soldiers, allowing the character to sneak around and potentially strike from behind. During combat, the character who consistently fires his weapon at the enemies and draws their attention boosts his aggro meter. In case you are unaware of the Aggro system from the first game, the concept is relatively simple to understand. Keep blasting away at enemies and you'll draw aggro for yourself. Even cooler is the fact that this positional info is also transmitted to your partner, allowing you to plan flanking attacks or distraction maneuvers thanks to the Aggro system to eliminate enemies. This includes being able to see enemies as they duck behind cover or hide behind walls. However, the GPS is much more useful than a simple turn-by-turn navigator it allows you to instantly tag any enemy that you see, revealing their rank as well as their location at all times. The first tool that the duo gets is the in-game GPS, which instantly shows off the path to your next objective from your current location. Fortunately, Rios and Salem are stocked with more than enough tools to see them through the chaos engulfing the city. (In fact, every now and then, it actually does.) I couldn't help but laugh at the fact that Rios and Salem would seem to escape a near miss from some deathtrap only to have another explosion go off in their faces and elicit a rather natural response. This definitely adds a crazier action spin to the gameplay, much more than any gunfight that you participate in, because it always seems as though the floor will fall out from beneath your soldiers and get you in trouble. Buildings fall on each other, helicopters smash into buildings and explosions shake the ground seemingly every few seconds.
